Yoakum Wedding

Tacoma, WA

This was such a special wedding to me because I was able to photograph my mother-in-law! Joan and Darel were married at Foss Water Way Seaport in Tacoma. My husband, Trevor officiated their wedding and had us all in tears. My son, Ephraim helped walk the rings down the aisle and danced his heart out. We all were overwhelmed with joy and happiness. I am so blessed to have them as family! We love you!

Special thanks to Lindsay Brooke Photography for helping me shoot the wedding so I could wrangle my kiddos during the ceremony and reception.

Little Abram is 6 Months!

Seattle, WA

My baby is growing up. This milestone was complete with two bottom teeth popping out, almost being able to sit by himself with out toppling over, big giggles, lots of spit, his first airplane ride, two trips out of the state, lots of push ups, transition to his crib, sleeping in the same room as his big brother and is he a chatter box. I just can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like when real words come out. He will be one of those kids that have a question for EVERYTHING. His rolls are kind of starting to fade and it’s making me really emotional. Stop time. Stay little! Why do you grow up so quick?!

My Abe, Abe the babe, baby Abe-ie, Abram Lynn – I love you so!

Kaitlyn & Matt’s Wedding Day

Venue: Pine Creek Nursery & Cascade Community Church / Monroe, Washington

Matt & Kaitlyn were married on November 5th. A day that cleared in the middle of two days with snow! The heavens opened up just for them. This day was full of unique arbors, green houses and the stunning fall colors. Kaitlyn and her gals got ready in this amazing green house off her house and the couple did their first look and photos at Pine Creek Nursery under stunning canopies. Their bridal party was full of characters, happy laughter and gorgeous smiles. Later that afternoon, they had a heart warming ceremony and reception at Cascade Community Church. I love the background she chose for her ceremony and the custom made arbor Matt crafted that they said “I do” under. Take a moment to check out Matt’s precious face when Kaitilyn is walking down the isle – I about lost it too. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. McAuliffe; you both are treasures!

Getting Ready at the McAuliffe Wedding

Monroe, WA

Kaitlyn and Matt were married last weekend in Monroe. Their wedding was full of character and details. Today I started to sit down and go through some of the images from that day and Kaitlyn is just radiant in all of them. It is hard to just show you a few! I cannot wait to share more of their beautiful day. Yet, some of my favorite moments of a wedding are when the bride is getting ready with her favorite gals and her mom. There is such a tenderness in the hours before the first look and ceremony. Plus, I LOVED being able to photograph in Kaitlyn’s adorable green house that was attached to her home. The morning dew and crisp fall day made for a beautiful back drop!

DeRosa Wedding

Sacramento, California

Dan & Lisa were married last March at Lake Natoma Inn just outside of Sacramento. This was a fun and unique wedding as my husband Trevor was also able to be the officiant! We have truly enjoyed being able to do weddings together. Thank you for having us be a part of your big day Dan and Lisa!

Lisa’s Reflection on her wedding day:

The moment came just about as quickly as it left. Bouquets neatly tied with ribbons, guest programs set on the tables, and the bridal party standing in line, it hit me: I am the bride at this wedding. Though I have celebrated with many couples on their special day of matrimony, this day was different; it was my wedding! I walked down the pathway and across the dance floor with my dad who gave me away to the man I love standing before Trevor (our pastor) and our guests. With my bridesmaids and Daniel’s groomsmen standing beside us, we felt the love and support of each person in the room. My girls had been with me since Friday afternoon encouraging me, praying with me, and just enjoying the time together. Daniel and I held hands as Trevor spoke about the marriage model reflecting that of Christ and his church. While paying close attention, I couldn’t help but catch myself thinking “This is the ceremony that we planned. These are the family and friends that we invited. It all came together! Thank you God! Okay, now I need to read my vows without getting too choked up…” I knew that once I started to read them out loud, it would be difficult to keep it together. I cried while writing them so at least I am consistent haha.

I do believe that all the emotions of the day just overflowed when I stepped onto the dance floor with my dad and the song Butterfly Kisses came through the speakers. I know lots of girls dream of their wedding day for many different reasons; for me, I have had this dance with my papa picked out for a long time. He has played this song for me on several different occasions but one time in particular meant so much to me. I had been having a bad week health wise in high school so when Dad came home from work one day, he brought me a teddy bear with a butterfly on its nose that played Butterfly Kisses with the push of its paw. Just a small gesture, but I can’t begin to articulate how much it meant. I felt like we were the only ones in the entire room while we danced. That was truly a moment that I will never forget.

After all anticipation, stress of getting it all done, and how completely exhausted I was, not gonna lie, I am honestly surprised how much I really enjoyed the celebration! But this would not have been possible without the incredible help of our loved ones. I have a hard time finding the words to really express my appreciation and gratefulness for an awesome power couple that both played huge roles in our special day. But I will try because they deserve so much more than just a thank you. Trevor, what a blessing to have you officiate our wedding. We felt so loved and known as you helped us through the planning process. To share the truth of the gospel and the love of Christ for His church with our loved ones fulfilled a desire that both Daniel and I hoped for our wedding. Hilary, we absolutely loved having you as our photographer. You are so talented and seriously have the best eye for lighting, color contrast, and special wedding pictures that I would never have thought of but love! Thank you for capturing the cherished moments of the day!

Brieske’s Getting Ready

Tacoma, Wa

Some of my favorite moments are when the bride and groom are getting ready for the big day. This time of the day is typically more relaxed and the moments between family and bridal party are precious.

“Marriage is a mosaic you build with your spouse. Millions of tiny moments that create your love story.” – Jennifer Smith. Such peace and happiness flooded Tom and Kaitlyn this morning! Here is a start of the beautiful picture that they are continuing to build upon.

Sunset of the Season

Tacoma, WA

Tom & Kaitlyn had one of the most gorgeous sunsets I have been able to document this season on a wedding day! I am really glad they opted to sneak out during their reception for a few minutes so we could capture some of these shots!
