Last weekend I had some gals over and we made DIY coffee creamers a long side our coffee tasting party. Some of you coffee enthusiasts love it black, but I personally like to add a little something to my cup of jo’. And while coffee’s great, sometimes creamers are not; they can be loaded up with artificial flavors and preservatives. So wether you like a steamy Chemex brew or an iced coffee in your favorite hipster mason jar, below you will find some of my favorite recipes to go a long with it!
I bought the above canning jars to put our various creamers in. Add equal parts of half and half or heavy whipping cream with regular milk or sweetened condensed milk. Depending on your milk tolerant you can always just use almond milk or all half and half. I personally don’t like sweetened condensed milk, so I just used half and half. Then you can add a variety of the below ingredients depending on what you want or mix it up to what sounds good to you!
Maple Almond – 1 tbsp maple syrup and 1 tsp pure almond extract
Cinnamon Vanilla – 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
Mocha – 2 tbsp cocoa powder and 1 tsp espresso powder/extract
Coffee – 1/2 tbsp espresso powder or espresso powder/extract
Vanilla Hazelnut – 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp hazelnut extract
Once all your ingredients are added, just shake really well for a few minutes. I have looked into trying a lavender and honey creamer soon too for this summer! Let me know how it went for you and if you have other ideas as well, please comment below!
