DeRosa Wedding

Sacramento, California

Dan & Lisa were married last March at Lake Natoma Inn just outside of Sacramento. This was a fun and unique wedding as my husband Trevor was also able to be the officiant! We have truly enjoyed being able to do weddings together. Thank you for having us be a part of your big day Dan and Lisa!

Lisa’s Reflection on her wedding day:

The moment came just about as quickly as it left. Bouquets neatly tied with ribbons, guest programs set on the tables, and the bridal party standing in line, it hit me: I am the bride at this wedding. Though I have celebrated with many couples on their special day of matrimony, this day was different; it was my wedding! I walked down the pathway and across the dance floor with my dad who gave me away to the man I love standing before Trevor (our pastor) and our guests. With my bridesmaids and Daniel’s groomsmen standing beside us, we felt the love and support of each person in the room. My girls had been with me since Friday afternoon encouraging me, praying with me, and just enjoying the time together. Daniel and I held hands as Trevor spoke about the marriage model reflecting that of Christ and his church. While paying close attention, I couldn’t help but catch myself thinking “This is the ceremony that we planned. These are the family and friends that we invited. It all came together! Thank you God! Okay, now I need to read my vows without getting too choked up…” I knew that once I started to read them out loud, it would be difficult to keep it together. I cried while writing them so at least I am consistent haha.

I do believe that all the emotions of the day just overflowed when I stepped onto the dance floor with my dad and the song Butterfly Kisses came through the speakers. I know lots of girls dream of their wedding day for many different reasons; for me, I have had this dance with my papa picked out for a long time. He has played this song for me on several different occasions but one time in particular meant so much to me. I had been having a bad week health wise in high school so when Dad came home from work one day, he brought me a teddy bear with a butterfly on its nose that played Butterfly Kisses with the push of its paw. Just a small gesture, but I can’t begin to articulate how much it meant. I felt like we were the only ones in the entire room while we danced. That was truly a moment that I will never forget.

After all anticipation, stress of getting it all done, and how completely exhausted I was, not gonna lie, I am honestly surprised how much I really enjoyed the celebration! But this would not have been possible without the incredible help of our loved ones. I have a hard time finding the words to really express my appreciation and gratefulness for an awesome power couple that both played huge roles in our special day. But I will try because they deserve so much more than just a thank you. Trevor, what a blessing to have you officiate our wedding. We felt so loved and known as you helped us through the planning process. To share the truth of the gospel and the love of Christ for His church with our loved ones fulfilled a desire that both Daniel and I hoped for our wedding. Hilary, we absolutely loved having you as our photographer. You are so talented and seriously have the best eye for lighting, color contrast, and special wedding pictures that I would never have thought of but love! Thank you for capturing the cherished moments of the day!

Rest in the Moment Book

Seattle, WA

I have had the great privilege to work with Christine Sine on her upcoming book of reflections that was just published, called Rest in the Moment. I had a lot of fun creating the graphics for her to go a long with her writing. She has a lot of fun elements that she adds in each section that made this book very interactive. I think this is a wonderful book to consider using as a devotional during the Easter season. It is a compilation of some of the best Monday meditations from her blog, Godspace arranged in a form that invites you to rest, refresh and renew. The twelve meditations in this book are designed to provide moments of refreshment. It is now available on Amazon in print and soon will be available on Kindle. Get a copy today!
