Baby Archer

Gig Harbor, WA

A few years ago I shot newborn photos for the Chang Family when their daughter Madeleine was born. Julia and Lee just welcomed their third child, Archer to the family a little less than a month ago! So I took a trip to their home in Gig Harbor to photograph Archer and their family while relatives were visiting. I had such a fun time catching up, seeing the growth of their kids and meeting little Archer! I just L-O-V-E newborns! There is nothing like a fresh baby and I was so privileged be part of their day last week. Welcome to the world baby Archer!

Little Abram is 6 Months!

Seattle, WA

My baby is growing up. This milestone was complete with two bottom teeth popping out, almost being able to sit by himself with out toppling over, big giggles, lots of spit, his first airplane ride, two trips out of the state, lots of push ups, transition to his crib, sleeping in the same room as his big brother and is he a chatter box. I just can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like when real words come out. He will be one of those kids that have a question for EVERYTHING. His rolls are kind of starting to fade and it’s making me really emotional. Stop time. Stay little! Why do you grow up so quick?!

My Abe, Abe the babe, baby Abe-ie, Abram Lynn – I love you so!

Baby Sloane

Seattle, WA

There is nothing like the first weeks of having a newborn. They are so itty bitty and precious! Bobby and Kelly welcomed their baby girl, Sloane Harper into the world on May 6th at 6:23am. Weighing in at 8lbs 7oz & 19.5in long! Congratulations McCarville family — she is a beauty!

Ephraim 7 Months

Seattle, WA

There have been a lot of changes around our house hold the past month. Ephraim has started to venture into eating solid foods, he has grown into a master crawler and as of last week has been pulling himself up onto everything! Which has unfortunately lead to a few bumps and bruises, hence the Harry Potter bruise below. We don’t photoshop the real life things around here. ephraim7mo_1 ephraim7mo_2

Eugene, Oregon.

Meet Jude Elliot! His name means “praise God” and indeed he is a little miracle we thank Jesus for! Jude was born on May 1st weighing 5lbs and 7 oz. Now, Jude is just over 6 weeks and just hitting 8lbs! Woo hoo, GO JUDE (and the work of your awesome mom)!

The last few weeks we have been in Portland and I was able to swing down to Eugene to visit his awesome parents, Aaron and Bethany.  While there I snapped a few photos of this precious boy while catching up with his momma.  Welcome to the world Jude, we love you immensely already.

Ephraim’s 2 Month Photos

Seattle, WA

Little E is now TWO months old! He has the biggest toothless grin and loves to laugh at mommy & daddy. He is very alert, interatcive and loves listening to us read and talk to him. He’s not much of a crier unless he’s hungry or wants to fall asleep and needs an extra cuddle to get cozy. Ephraim has also has surprised us by already sleeping through the night! Trevor and I are very thankful for this little man who brings us much joy!

Ephraim is ONE Month!

Seattle, WA

My baby boy turned 1 month old today! I can’t believe the milestones are already happening.  Ephraim is a lot more social, locking eyes and starting to make fun noises accompanied by big grins or stink faces. Big stretches and deep snuggles after a full tummy from nursing are some of my favorite moments with baby E. Happy 1 month little man!

A New Wild Adventure

Monroe, WA

We have been a little MIA lately in the Compass Arrow world. The past few months have been packed with moving to a northern suburb of Seattle, my husband starting to pastor at a different church, launching a new blog, & did I mention baby baby baby things? Our little guy will be here in a few short months!

I am now almost 34 weeks, which makes my tummy gigantic, short winded breathing to do even the simplest of tasks and sweet, well lets be honest – sometimes painful kicks and jabs constantly from baby. I’m growing a part Japanese mini-ninja. I seem to be waddling more than walking, and misjudging my circumference as I bump into counters and knock things over on tables. I have the bruises to prove it. Lets not forget that unfortunate peeing-when-you-laugh-or-sneeze phenomenon or feeling like you can take a nap in just about any situation.

Pregnancy is a really unique experience, but life is a joy and I can’t imagine it any other way. Baby is super healthy and that is all this new mom can ever ask for. He is almost full term, weighing in at a little over 4lbs and 17inches long! What a champ.

Now that we are getting settled into our new home, a nursery area was undoubtedly in the works. We themed his space from the book, “Where the Wild Things Are” and anticipate a whole new adventure ahead for our family has he enters this world soon. Any guesses on his name? I’ll give you a hint, it starts with an “E”.

So with that, we will continue to be a little MIA until baby “E’s” arrival as our family adjusts with this precious gift of life and new season in our life. Feel free to e-mail us for inquiries as we will continue to schedule photography sessions for the upcoming spring (starting in May) and into the summer/fall. You can still follow us for more constant posts on our facebook page and be on the look out for updates with our growing family!

I am sure I will start to be THAT mom who posts a scary amount of adorable newborn pictures, but I’ll try to keep it contained. Maybe. If he looks anything like his dad, you all just may want to unfollow me now if you can’t handle the abundance of cuteness about to be posted. Watch out for those cute almond asian eyes and sleepy funny faces.

Happy love month from ours to yours. May you take this time to celebrate the precious gifts around you.

Newborn Madeleine

University Place, WA

Meet Madeleine. She was one of the most sweet spirited and calm baby I have photographed that was awake! Usually when I do newborn portraits I ask the mother to make sure their baby has just been fed and is about to or is dozed off if possible or if I can come during their nap time. It helps because they do not get frustrated or irritated when you are trying to situate them. Yet, Madeline was wide-eyed and ready. She made quite an adorable model and one that was ready for the camera! She will be rooted in French culture as her mother whispered french to her to sooth her and her room was decorated in lavender and Eiffel tower art. I loved it. It brought back memories of my time in France and Switzerland. I have missed this dialect and it made this precious time with her so much more fun! Welcome to the world Madeleine!newborn_Madeline newborn_Madeline_12 newborn_Madeline_11 newborn_Madeline_10 newborn_Madeline_9 newborn_Madeline_8 newborn_Madeline_7 newborn_Madeline_6 newborn_Madeline_5 newborn_Madeline_4 newborn_Madeline_3 newborn_Madeline_2 newborn_Madeline_1
