Bowen & Marah

Bothell, WA

Bowen and Marah are engaged! My husband and I first met Bowen two years ago and he became part of our church family quickly after. Marah came into the picture pretty soon after that. Surprisingly, their moms dubiously tried to set them up, and kept trying to have them hang out. So Bowen ended up inviting Marah to a Kardia event. She quickly got plugged into our community and then all of the sudden we noticed Bowen and Marah spending a lot more quality time together 😉 Later into the year they officially started to date and Bowen proposed last June!

We ventured to Ride N Shine Farm, where Bowen’s family keeps their horse, Poppy. Despite the crazy Washington summer weather, the clouds didn’t rain on us! We had a lot of fun and I even had a hard time not laughing with these two!

Bowen and Marah, you are both such generous and servant hearted people. You always desiring to learn and grow, which makes you strong leaders. You reflect a kindness and redemptive beauty in your lives. It is such an honor to be part of your story in a small way and to have watched your relationship blossom over this past year. I am thrilled for you both! I can’t wait to help officiate your wedding this October! Love you tons.

Jeff & Emma

Seattle, WA

Jeff & Emma met at their church and after a friendship started dating and now are engaged! I am excited to shoot their wedding this August in Monroe. We ventured to Discovery Park in Seattle that totes beautiful landscapes and a classic light house. We were just at the end of the warm spring day in Seattle, which made for a fantastic day to do engagement photos.

When I think of Emma & Jeff, this quote from Augustine comes to mind, “Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.”. They have a pure, innocent and joyful love. You can see the adoration come out of them towards each other. I am excited for their future together! Congratulations Jeff & Emma!

DeRosa Wedding

Sacramento, California

Dan & Lisa were married last March at Lake Natoma Inn just outside of Sacramento. This was a fun and unique wedding as my husband Trevor was also able to be the officiant! We have truly enjoyed being able to do weddings together. Thank you for having us be a part of your big day Dan and Lisa!

Lisa’s Reflection on her wedding day:

The moment came just about as quickly as it left. Bouquets neatly tied with ribbons, guest programs set on the tables, and the bridal party standing in line, it hit me: I am the bride at this wedding. Though I have celebrated with many couples on their special day of matrimony, this day was different; it was my wedding! I walked down the pathway and across the dance floor with my dad who gave me away to the man I love standing before Trevor (our pastor) and our guests. With my bridesmaids and Daniel’s groomsmen standing beside us, we felt the love and support of each person in the room. My girls had been with me since Friday afternoon encouraging me, praying with me, and just enjoying the time together. Daniel and I held hands as Trevor spoke about the marriage model reflecting that of Christ and his church. While paying close attention, I couldn’t help but catch myself thinking “This is the ceremony that we planned. These are the family and friends that we invited. It all came together! Thank you God! Okay, now I need to read my vows without getting too choked up…” I knew that once I started to read them out loud, it would be difficult to keep it together. I cried while writing them so at least I am consistent haha.

I do believe that all the emotions of the day just overflowed when I stepped onto the dance floor with my dad and the song Butterfly Kisses came through the speakers. I know lots of girls dream of their wedding day for many different reasons; for me, I have had this dance with my papa picked out for a long time. He has played this song for me on several different occasions but one time in particular meant so much to me. I had been having a bad week health wise in high school so when Dad came home from work one day, he brought me a teddy bear with a butterfly on its nose that played Butterfly Kisses with the push of its paw. Just a small gesture, but I can’t begin to articulate how much it meant. I felt like we were the only ones in the entire room while we danced. That was truly a moment that I will never forget.

After all anticipation, stress of getting it all done, and how completely exhausted I was, not gonna lie, I am honestly surprised how much I really enjoyed the celebration! But this would not have been possible without the incredible help of our loved ones. I have a hard time finding the words to really express my appreciation and gratefulness for an awesome power couple that both played huge roles in our special day. But I will try because they deserve so much more than just a thank you. Trevor, what a blessing to have you officiate our wedding. We felt so loved and known as you helped us through the planning process. To share the truth of the gospel and the love of Christ for His church with our loved ones fulfilled a desire that both Daniel and I hoped for our wedding. Hilary, we absolutely loved having you as our photographer. You are so talented and seriously have the best eye for lighting, color contrast, and special wedding pictures that I would never have thought of but love! Thank you for capturing the cherished moments of the day!

Martin Family

Seattle, WA

This is one spectacular family who are near to our hearts. Kaj & Janell have three beautiful children: Phoebe, Asha & Luke. They pastor at Living Way Foursquare in North Seattle and have been huge influences on our life and their community. I had the honor to do a family session of them for their Christmas card. We ventured to Golden Gardens Park in Seattle on a beautiful crisp day. The sun broke out through the clouds just in time! They were troopers and were able to overcome the chill!

Ephraim 7 Months

Seattle, WA

There have been a lot of changes around our house hold the past month. Ephraim has started to venture into eating solid foods, he has grown into a master crawler and as of last week has been pulling himself up onto everything! Which has unfortunately lead to a few bumps and bruises, hence the Harry Potter bruise below. We don’t photoshop the real life things around here. ephraim7mo_1 ephraim7mo_2

Ephraim’s 2 Month Photos

Seattle, WA

Little E is now TWO months old! He has the biggest toothless grin and loves to laugh at mommy & daddy. He is very alert, interatcive and loves listening to us read and talk to him. He’s not much of a crier unless he’s hungry or wants to fall asleep and needs an extra cuddle to get cozy. Ephraim has also has surprised us by already sleeping through the night! Trevor and I are very thankful for this little man who brings us much joy!

Oberon’s Restaurant & Bar Menu Design

Ashland, Oregon

If you ever get a chance to head to Ashland, Oregon you will have to swing by Oberon’s Restaurant and Bar! Ashland is home of the Oregon Shakespeare festival and many shops and restaurants are themed after this. After you spend a beautiful afternoon in Lithia Park or catch a summer play, don’t miss an experience at this Shakespearean tavern inspired by a Midsummer Night’s Dream.  Enjoy varieties of meat pies, grilled cheese sandwiches, artisan sausages and their notorious giant turkey leg. They are also known for their signature drinks and live music!

Under new ownership, they are starting to put out some changes just in time for the summer festivities! I was able to help design and put together their new menu. Check it out below!

Ephraim is ONE Month!

Seattle, WA

My baby boy turned 1 month old today! I can’t believe the milestones are already happening.  Ephraim is a lot more social, locking eyes and starting to make fun noises accompanied by big grins or stink faces. Big stretches and deep snuggles after a full tummy from nursing are some of my favorite moments with baby E. Happy 1 month little man!
